Can I hook up my xbox 360 to my computers wireless connection?
I want to plug my 360 into my computer so i can use my computer’s wireless connection to get onto xbox live. If i can avoid buying a wireless network adapter for my 360, i will be very happy. My operating system is windows vista home basic.

Your answer is technically "yes", but it would require you to install a second network card into your computer, and setting up your computer to act as a gateway. This is a hastle if you don’t have any networking knowledge.
I know it’s more expensive, but you should look into a "Wireless Ethernet Bridge". Linksys makes them and calls them "Wireless gaming adapters", but if you can find one labeled as a "Wireless Ethernet Bridge" on ebay or something, it will save you some money. The "Wireless gaming adapter retails for $90-$100. Regardless, this is your simplest option, and it can also be used with a PS2. This way you can make both wireless if you wish.
yes, there’s a thing, i don’t know what it’s called, at gamestop you can buy.
No, sorry, you have to buy the x-box 360 live adapter. Then you hook it up to a router if you have one. A router is something that you hook up to your computer. It uses you computers Internet to share the connections with other things wirerlessly. Then you can connect to x-box live.
Hope this helps!
Your best bet is to hard wire an ethernet cable from your Xbox to a router/wireless router with ethernet ports.
If you don’t want to buy Microsoft’s expensive wireless adapter for Xbox 360, then buy a wireless bridge and connect it to the ethernet port of your Xbox to connect wirelessly to your wireless network. Linksys and other companies sell these gaming wireless bridges.
If you want to plug the Xbox directly to a PC, it’s complicated. You need to plug the Xbox to your PC with an ethernet cable (normal patch, not cross-over). You PC will require an ethernet card or port to accept this. You will need to configure your PC’s ethernet card as a server so it will act as a host for connections on this port and then access it’s wireless network adapter (it’s second network connection) to connect to the internet.
Alternatively, use a HOMEPLUG. These connect to your home’s mains electricity supply and uses this ring of cables to send data. You will need one HOMEPLUG for your Xbox and another one for your internet connection (Wireless Router or modem). There are many companies who make HOMEPLUGS.
