Virtualization on Vista….??
Ok guys, lets see… Right now, I’m using Vista but my plans are to use Virtualization to run a different OS…. I want to run maybe Ubuntu from Vista, but even though I’ve read a lot of articules of virtualization, I don’t know how to do that, or if that’s the correct thing to do…. I heard VMWare is great, but I’ve never used it…. Can I use Ubuntu using virtualization…?? How can I do that…?? Can I do from Vista…?? How many free space do I need…?? Thanks for your answers guys…!!!!

You could try using VirtualBox… I use it on Ubuntu to run a Windows XP on a virtual machine. I’ve had no problems whatsoever with it. I’m pretty sure it works on XP, so it should also work on Vista. There are a lot of neat "Guest Additions", such as a seamless transition mode, shared clipboard, shared folders between host and guest, etc. It’s also free
You’ll need a good amount of free space, I know in Ubuntu I can make a "dynamically expanding" virtual hard drive for XP, but you’ll want a good amount of space (maybe 15 gigs if you plan on keeping a lot of stuff in it, the Ubuntu filesystem takes up maybe 5 gigs at the most though.
We have VISTA running VMWARE workstation. This product allow us to build different virtual machines (VM) on VISTA. I have a XP VM and another VISTA VM.
VMWARE workstation is not free. You can also download VMWARE server to try. This is free.
Cheers!
