Can an XBox 360 or Wii really be used as a data projector?

Someone told me that it was possible to hook up an Xbox 360 (or a Wii) to a computer and TV and show the PC desktop on teh the television screen. In other words, get the same effect as a data projector. Sounds too good to be true! Does anybody know if this is really possible? If so, how exactly would it be done? If it is not true, any other suggestions for using a redundant Xbox 360 that is not wanted for Xbox gaming?

I don’t know if you can get your computer’s stuff to show up on your TV, but I know you can hook up your 360 to your Moniter.
If you have like a high def moniter and not a really good TV, this is pretty cool
