How to stream media to my xbox 360 from windows media player 11 in windows vista?

I want to stream videos and music to my xbox 360 using windows media player 11 on vista home basic. My connection is wired and I already allowed streaming to the 360 but when I try to set up a connection it won’t connect to the computer. Please help.
Idk I could vista home basic doesn’t come with media center only windows media player 11 but it says on the setup taht you could use media 11 and it replaces media center.
