What are the differences between Xbox 360 and PS2?
I am tossing up which console to buy. What are the differences between Xbox 360 and PlayStation2 (in terms of variety and types of games, graffics, game play, cost of games and console itself and any other difference)? Which do you reccomend and which is the best value for money. Cheers!

The PS2 is not competing with the Xbox 360 but only the normal Xbox so you can’t compare both of the console’s as the PS2 was released around the year 2000 and the Xbox 360 was released around 2005 so obviously the technology used in the Xbox 360 would be new and a lot better. Sony has planned to stop the production of new games so the cool games which consoles like Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 would get the PS2 will not get. I would obviously recommend the 360 as it has better graphics an internal hardisk, Xbox Live on which you can play multiplayer with others and make friends and chat with the headphones or by text, better game details, USB Slot which can be used to view movies and listen to music from the USB Drive and lastly an amazing interface called the NXE and tons of other stuff, all of which the PlayStation 2 does not have. When you switch on the PS2 you can only see a screen in which it is written Sony Computer Entertainment and the game boots up.
So I conclude that the Xbox 360 has better value for money and features, graphics etc execpt for the cost of games, but when you have so many features cost of games don’t matter, so get a Xbox 360 instead of a Play Station 2.
Hope this helped.
ps3 is better
NO WAY THEYRE NOT GONNA PUT BLU RAY IN XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- ps3 has a built-in blu-ray player
- ps3 has much more and better exclusives, most of them cant go to xbox 360 because it cant handle that many data(DVD- 8.5gb, blu-ray 50gb)
- online is free for ps3 not like 360
- ps3 will have over 300 games released by this spring
- when developers get used to the system, the graphics will be WAY better than 360. should take them a year to get used to it
- playstation home is coming out this spring, its a virtual community where you can hang out with friends and customize your own apartment which xbox doesnt have(FREE)
- ps3 is a true HD console. xbox 360 upscale games to 1080p and ps3 DISPLAY games up to 1080p
- built in Wi-Fi
- xbox 360: 33% hardware failure
ps3: .2% hardware failure(see the decimal? less than 1%!)
- rumble returns in spring 2008
- you can upgrade your harddrive without voiding warranties with any 2.5 HDD, which xbox cant because you have to buy a xbox HDD
(they actually have the step by step on how to upgrade it on playstation.com)
those are the ones that i know right off my mind but there are much more reason than this
Prices as of today:
ps3- 80gb: $599
60gb: $499
xbox 360(premium)- $399 (if you want the accessories that ps3 comes with, that would add up to over 700 dollars)
well, i’d say xbox 360. even though ps2 has more variety of games, but they wont make any more of them. xbox is better in terms of graphics plus its only about 200 bucks now. and the xbox actually has things u can buy off the internet. so all in all, i’d say the xbox is better
Go with the 360 – new games for the PS2 will stop being made soon, as developers will focus on the PS3 more and more.
i highly reccomend the 360. it has better graphics(IMO) and its fairly new, so games will continue to come out for it. it has great online play too, i play it a lot.
depends how much your willing to spend. If you want the best you will want Xbox 360, better graphics, better gameplay, And you will never regret it
ps3 is better
The Xbox 360 is better.Because you can go live on Xbox and you could go into internet. While Ps2 does not have those things. But Xbox is more expensive than the ps2.
