Is it possible to use the windows 7 upgrade cd from windows vista to upgrade on a windows 7 RC?
Okay, so I have the windows 7 RC and I’d like to have the final release on one computer, but on the other computer I used to have windows vista, got the upgrade to windows 7 cd, and so now, I’m wondering if I can use that CD to upgrade the w7 RC. Thanks!

copy the files on your computer find sources files there you will find the text file called cversion open it and change 7230.0 to 7000.0 or 7600.0 the save after that find the setup.exe and upgrade every thing will be ok enjoy lol
If you have an upgrade license of Windows 7, you must have either Vista or XP installed in oreder to make the installation work.

If you used to have XP or Vista on the computer that got the RC, they don’t make you reinstall them before you use the upgrade discs. You supposedly can use the upgrade discs coming directly from the RC.
However, if you’re trying to install to multiple computers, you’re going to need a different key for each one unless you bought the family pack.
