Windows 7 has Windows Live Essentials that uses Windows Live Movie Maker, which can't open v2.6 MSWMM files unfortunately. What I would suggest is that you download and install the v2.6 version of WMM for Vista from the link below: http://www.brothersoft.com/windows-movie-maker-67210.html You can have both the 2.6 version of Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker on your laptop at the same time, since they are both stand-alone programs. Once you have the 2.6 version downloaded, import your MSWMM files from your desktop into the program... then Publish them.
