What you might want to try is to send WOW from your older computer that had it installed and sent it to the vista computer…
Send it thru lan and it should work well…
Unfortunatly i had the same problem, only worse. You see… i Purchased a brand new computer Just as Vista came out and also bought the Vista upgrade with it. The first thing i did when i started my computer was update it to vista. Multiple drivers were missing and i was unable to update my recently purchased WOW, and its expansion. I contacted Microsoft and Blizzard about the issue and spent 4-5 hours on the phone with them both on my precious saturday game time.
The only resolution i came up with was reinstalling my old OS (XP) and playing it from there.
Oh BTW i recently found that Vista is just a memory hog. i found multiple themes for my XP OS that make it look identical to Vista, without the multiple problems that come with any new OS.
Good luck. i feel your pain!
