How do you get adware and spyware off of your computer?

I have a computer that is running a little slower than it should. I tried to defrag and delete files that I no longer use, but I think there is spyware on my pc. There are sexual pop-ups on my pc and stuff about icons and smiley faces!! I do want to say that we have downloaded limewire on my pc and we use internet explorer to access the web. Pls help.

I use this site and have recommended it to others as well. Even on here, and one guy gave me best answer cause he liked it so much. Go to this website and download Clean Up! On the top righthand side of the page, under Popular, click on CleanUp! 4.5.2 download. The next link you want to click is around the middle of the page, and says Cleanup452.exe. I used this on my mom’s computer and freed up almost 1G of disk space. My computer is pretty new so I didn’t have that much to clean up, but I use it to keep it that way.
Use antispyware utilities such as Ad-Aware or Spyware Terminator.
Use a good anti spyware such as Ad aware or Spoybot S&D. tehey are free. google it up!
The more fun an application is or website the more you will get slammed with junk. Get rid of Limewire, download Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware, get a hardware firewall and download Mozilla Firefox browser.
that sounds like a spyware infestation download and run ad-aware it has always helped me out
