If you look up that motherboard at newegg.com, you will see that it's compatible with an AM2 or AM2+ cpu, so that processor is fine.

The memory for that motherboard would need to be DDR2 800 with an AM processor, and DDR 1066 with an AM2 processor. (So the memory you've picked out is correct for that motherboard and that AM2 processor.)

With those three things working together, everything else is fine. (And your motherboard supports 6 SATA connections, so you're good there too.

Keep in mind though, if you put the full 8GB of RAM (4x2GB RAM modules) that that motherboard can handle into it, you're going to need a 64bit operating system to fully utilize all of it. (32bit systems will only show and/or use 3-3.5 GB or RAM. It's all they were built to take.)

well the first time your rig went out there could have been many reasons and your right faulty power supply but 420 watts should be plenty of watts for your setup but NEVER ADJUST YOUR POWER CORD WHILE PLUG IN THE OUTLET CAN SEND SPARKS FLYING OR RISK OF INJURY.

it could have been a loose 24volt power plug on your motherboard or a 6pin could have pin your reset pin or maybe your fan on your heatsink was not spinning? sata cables you gotta check all these options but your gonna find out reinstalling your power supply and becareful removing your powersupply make sure you unplug your desktop and use a anti-static wristband or touch the computer case chassis.you could have blown out a good psu.
