When i have a question abt a anti-spyware software i always visit:
there they have listed allmost all the softwares, their features, and comparisions to other related substitutes
the best anti-spyware i av seen yet is webroot spyware. its lite and really fast plus very effective. first in topten list of above site. u can get all of its features on the site.
have a nice NO spyware day!
avast and then do occasional scans with malwarebytes. i’d also suggest using a firewall. i use comodo firewall (disabling the AV program offered with it)
Netgear
AVG FREE EDITION 8, SPY BOT.
You can download malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org, update it and run a scan, We use Trend micro at our work and malwarebytes seems to always fix any viruses that get past Trend micro, It’s a very good (Free) anti-virus to run a scan as a backup if your Anti-virus misses somthing.
I did not see much from Trend Micro, but I am sure it’s an average performer. If you have a paid license, it might be worth something – from my experience free products like Avast and AVG have a bigger memory footprint than other programs, which is not to say that a paid one is necessarily smaller.
You received a good suggestion here – deploy Malwarebytes Anti-malware and run it – it will definitely improve the overall situation. Such a combo can be very effective if you manage to keep malware out pro-actively – you need realtime protection and an IP blocker for that. SpyBot S&D does these acceptably for fee (but again, large memory footprint); another option is the full version of Malwarebytes Anti-malware, which includes scheduled scans and updates as well (get a Malwarebytes coupon code shared by users from http://news.dtcdeals.com/malwarebytes-coupon-code ). Good luck!
In response to the emergence of spyware, a small industry has sprung up dealing in anti-spyware software. Running anti-spyware software has become a widely recognized element of computer security practices for computers, especially those running Microsoft Windows. A number of jurisdictions have passed anti-spyware laws, which usually target any software that is surreptitiously installed to control a user’s computer. The US Federal Trade Commission has placed on the Internet a page of advice to consumers about how to lower the risk of spyware infection,
including a list of "do’s" and "don’ts."

You can use SpywareNoMore.
As we all know Computer hackers seeking financial gain rather than thrills or notoriety are increasingly flooding the Internet with malicious software code (spyware, adware, key loggers, trojans). They are infecting computers with highly sophisticated programs that record surfing habits, bank passwords and other key financial data and send them to crooks over the Internet. These programs can be hard to spot, disguised in downloads such as toolbars, search engines, browser accessories, screen savers and other seemingly helpful utilities.
SpyNoMore anti-spyware safeguards your identity and restores system performance through fast, smart and powerful spyware protection.
