Just one INDIAN is challenging against Bill gates…… This is not
only ground breaking news; it’s space-breaking news indeed.
Ramlal Bhagat, a XII std. student from Haryana, has developed a 32-bit
operating system demonstrated to be far superior to any of the desktop operating systems in the market today.
program has been named
"O-Yes". O-Yes provides operating system services on any
Pentium-based Personal computer (PC) and does not
require MS- DOS as a base operating system.
The operating system’s capabilities were demonstrated in a student
convention at the Indian Institute of
Technology (IIT), New Delhi. HCL Ltd.
O -Yes is 34% faster than Microsoft’s Windows 95 on similar hardware.
It is 29% faster than IBM’s OS/2. O-Yes loads 54% quicker than Windows

In answer to your first part of the questions, try the first website.
In answer to your secong group of questions(?), type O-YES into your browser address bar and click GO.
OR

Been going around for quite a few years now. Which seems pretty obvious as he comparing the OS to Windows 95!!
Long Story Short : Its a hoax
This story has been doing rounds in the net way back 9 years ago, in 1997 when the story was published in Times Of India on 21 February, 1997. You can check the date at http://groups.google.com/group/soc.culture.indian/msg/a8da930145866c1d
I don’t have the thumbnails of the OS at present, but when I saw it, I recognized immediately that it was Mandrake, a flavour of Linux, in reality, with the desktop wallpaper changed.
If the origin of the story is not a hoax, then following is my version : The student had taken Mandrake, might have made changes in the source code to rename Mandrake with O-Yes and recompiled it. Such custom distros are available freely on net, where you can change the name. Mandrake in those days was certainly better than Windows 95, so here’s how the story propogated. But the funny part is the name of the OS itself. Why on earth would he keep a name like that. Even if the first paragraph is believeble, the second paragraph removes any doubt for this mail to be true. This article was again published in Times of India around 2003, twice.
Another website was set up http://oyes.does.it. When someone ever accessed it, it gave the message "O-YES, You are our latest Bakra. # 945", with the number incrementing. The official site of this OS is http://oyes.thefreebizhost.com/, down for the last 2 years
I can assure you there is going to be another round of such hoaxes. Just 2 days ago, i.e. 4th January 2006, Pratham Kumar, a student from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gujarat purchased the domain http://ramlalbhagat.com/. I actually ran a WHOIS query to see who owned the domain. He has even kept the page title as ‘O Yes’. Contact him at pratham.kumar@gmail.com if you want to ask, when is the next round of hoax mails coming.
Hope this gives a detailed info on the hoax. Some other interesting places to study about it include :
