What kind of program can I get to record videos while I am playing? Also what type of movie editing programs are there I can use?

One of the "best" paid program for video recording is Fraps. If you don’t want to pay, you can still use Fraps but you are only allowed 30 seconds and the video is watermarked. HyperCam is another good alternative; however its quality is nothing compared to fraps.
For movie editing programs, I suggest you play around with Windows Movie Maker for a while before trying out other programs. I don’t know many movie editing programs apart from Adobe Premiere so hopefully someone else may give you some suggestions for this.
All right, I’ll fill you in there; iMovie is a simple yet excellent tool. If you can somehow gain access to it I suggest you use it.
