WoW World of Warcraft Requirements (Off the website)

The system requirements for World of Warcraft:

PC:
Processor: 800MHz or higher CPU.

RAM (Memory): 256Mb or more.

Video (Video Card): GeForce 2 or better

Hard Drive Space (HDD): 3Gb or more available.

DirectX 9.0 or above.

Mac:
Operating System: MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) or better.

Processor:1.0GHz or higher G4 or G5.

RAM (Memory): 512Mb or higher, DDR RAM recommended.

Video (Video Card): ATI or NVIDIA video hardware with 64Mb VRAM or more.

Hard Drive Space (HDD): 3Gb or more available.

HDD= Hard drive= Amount of space needed, most new computers come with 100 Gb or more now. 8 Gb is needed for Windows, so you'll need a 30 or 40 Gb HDD for regular use with Wow.

RAM= Memory= Think of it as a side kick to the Processor, it helps process things faster, 256 k is really, really low. You can get 1 Gb (256 k X 4) for $10-$15 now as long as it's DDR2 (what most new machines will need). For the best Wow experience I would recommend 1 Gb of memory, but that much isn't needed.

Processor= Literally the thing that processes things you want your machine to do. 800 MHz is going to be easy to find in a machine younger than 5 years old, most processors are 2000 MHz or higher now.

Video= Video Card= Card on your system board that helps the video along. The better the video card the better Wow will run and look, so this isn't something to go cheap on. A decent video card is from $50 and up.

I hope this helps.

Bare minimum for high quality graphics settings is 1GB of RAM and a Gforce 6600 series graphics card or better. Any CPU made in the last 4 years should be good enough, as the game has much higher demands for system memory and graphics than CPU cycles.

I have a 3 year old Dell inspirion 6000, make sure you have a stand alone grahpics card, the nvidia or ati radeon with at least 128mb in memory. also 1 gig or ram. A dual core processor would also be awesome.

For WoW on a laptop, I would suggest having 4GB of RAM (especially if you are using Vista, which most newer laptops have.) If you are buying a 2nd-hand laptop, I would suggest you find out if it came with Vista or was upgraded to Vista from XP, since the latter can have some negative effects on your performance. CPU-wise, I would suggest a dual-core processor. Something like the Dell XPS M1330 (Base price around $1000) or the Gateway 7833u (Base price around $850) would run WoW, your performance will be hindered alot, due to the integrated graphics card. Higher end models would probably run WoW really smooth, but your looking into the $2000+ range.

If you buy any new computer today it should 99% of the time be able to run world of warcraft just fine. The game has pretty low requirements, just make sure that you get at least 1 gb of ram/memory.
