Virtual PC can not start because this computer does not support hardware-assisted virtualization?
Hi everyone
when i wanted to create virtual machine, it said "Virtual PC can not start because this computer does not support hardware-assisted virtualization"
I have a fujitsu-siemens laptop with processor Intel(R) core(TM) 2 CPU T5500 1.66GHz
maybe it should be any way to start xp mode, I need it very much
I have a sony camcorder, that i used as a webcam. but it has only xp usb driver (not for wind 7) and i need to use it again :\ if there is any chance i can use it. I know there are also some problems installing xp after windows seven, to use them both.. so I’m waiting for your advices
thanks in advance guys, take care ![]()

On occasion albeit a pain you can use XP drivers in 7 I discovered the following procedure for a problematic Linksys usb wi-fi device and discovered it worked well for other problem devices as well.
Step one: download the XP camera driver from Sony
Two: run it like you were planning to install this will extract the drivers to a temp folder or a folder on the C: drive
Three: Expect any installer to fail horribly but remember the path where folders were extracted.
Four: Plug in the device then when it asks for a driver choose the path to where the installation program extracted to.
Win 7 should 8 times out of 10 snag the .inf for your camera and install the appropriate driver.
Hope that helps.
virtualbox.orgYou could try using Virtual Box instead of Virtual PC. I don’t have hardware-assisted virtualization on my machine either, but I am able to use Virtual Box.

Education is a wonderful thing, you do some research before you do anything with a computer, You research what the hardware specifications are needed to run the software, Now i am presuming that you have downloaded MS Virtual PC Software, If.I’m correct then that was a bad choice, there are other Virtual Machine Software you should have downloaded, Like Virtual box, or VMWare and there are others that do a better job than MS
Now you can make you Laptop into a virtual machine very simple by using the right Software, better still by using the right Operating System to do the job, Which is NOT Windows by along stretch of the imagination. There are other alternative operating system that are 10 years ahead of Microsoft windows 7, and Mac OS/x
These are free to download and use with all the software you will ever need, what ever you can buy for windows you get free with Linux, The best part about Linux is you have no need to install it, before you test it out, to see if it finds all your hardware, Sony camera to, and there is virtual box software already with the software, you download the Operating system and software then make a bootable CD/DVD and run Linux from the CD/DVD rom drive it will find all your hardware and camera
When you setup a virtual Machine with Linux if you have 1 gig of memory you can run 4 operating systems all at the same time, each Operating system needs 256 meg of ram to run, that’s including window if you want to run windows xp, and win 7 on a Linux virtual box
If you want to know more send me a message. For the message heading put this ‘Virtual PC’ then I will know what it is about, and give you all the details
