how to track lost or stolen iphone 3g in canada?

my mobile phone has been stolen its a 3g 16gb iphone … and i know their programs to help track it .. but are pay site’s is there any easy way to do this so i can locate it and possibly retreive my phone .. i live in vancouver canada , im guessing their will be laws preventing tracking of mobile phone’s but rule’s are made to be broken but it shouldnt stop me from tracking my own phone
