Mac Switching, What about Bios?

I’m thinking about getting a Mac, but, do Macs have Bios Settings like PCs do?
You know, when you press a key during start-up.
And what Mac key would I press to get in there?
I’m NOT referring to BootCamp or any virtualization of Windows.

jacsoft.co.nzfirmworks.comEveryone above me is wrong. This is why PC users should NOT answer Mac questions. They never have any idea what they are talking about.
Macs do not have a BIOS, they have EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) – it works a little differently. You press predefined keys with EFI commands bound to them at boot up to make the Mac do things.
Pressing and holding ‘c’ boots from the CD drive, ’s’ boots in to single user mode – there are 50+ boot up key commands http://www.jacsoft.co.nz/Tech_Notes/Mac_Keys.shtml
To boot in to EFI (like boting in to BIOS) you press CMD-OPT-O-F at boot. EFI is just a command line interface. There are many more commands in EFI then just what is bound to the keys at boot up. http://www.firmworks.com/QuickRef.html
Just for future reference – never listen to Windows users when it comes to Mac. Seriously, Windows users dont have a clue how Macs work.
Every computer has a BIOS, but on a Mac you cannot enter it. There are no reasons for either.
You cannot Change BIOS settings on a Macbook\imac.
You just cant, unless you have it installed on a computer which isn’t made by Apple
I would check our the laptop consumer magazine before you buy a mac, they rate them the 4th worst computer to buy, Asus, Acer Sony and Toshiba are the highest rated in that order. Mac are no different than any other Intel system they have all the same components every other laptop computer has, they are over priced, over rated, the software is expensive, and your locked into Mac end user license agreement Ma control the widget, the widget controls the widget user,(you)
