How to make Warcraft 3 appear in 4:3 ratio with black sidebars than 4:3 stretched to 10:9 on my wide screen?

my wide screen stretches the picture to 10:9 since this is the natural tatio of my monitor but the game doesnt support anything except 4:3 so it looks really bad and I cant even select units. I’ve heard there is a way to keep the 4:3 ratio but black bars would appear on the sides. How can I achieve this?

Sure, press the menu key on your monitor, navigate to the screen width option and lower it until you reach the desired 4:3 aspect ratio. Use a ruler and a calculator or just do it on a rough estimate.
