What ipod touch/iphone update did I just get and what other features does it have?

I just got the one that keeps your background and puts it into the apps home screen with all the apps. Like normally it would be all black with the apps, but now it has my background under my apps. What update is this, and what other features does it include?

what you said it really confusing but the only update that apple is giving out these days is 4.0. so it must be that one lol
