Can I use Parallels 4.0 on a mac to play high-end PC games?
I’m thinking about investing in a new Macbook Pro (with 4 GB of ram) to replace my old PC laptop.
I would like to be able to make the switch but still be able to play all the games I have on my old laptop (Crysis, WoW, Half Life 2, Team Fortress, etc).
I discovered Parallels virtualization the other day and was wondering if it would be able to handle the stress of running both Mac and Windows, AND running any game I decide to play on it.
Does anyone know how good Parallels 4 is for this? And if there are better programs out there that could help me achieve what I’m looking for, please feel free to list them.
Thanks!

No. Parallels and/or VMWare Fusion will not play high end games. When running those you are running BOTH OS X and Windows. This is going to be a intense drain on your system resources. There’s no way this will work.
If you want to run heavy handed games on a Mac, either buy the Mac version (if it exists) or install Windows natively onto the Mac using Boot Camp and a legit copy of Windows. While not nearly as convenient as a virtualization program, the dual boot method gives you far more computing power when in Windows.
Parallels is not the answer, like the first guy said it is a virtual machine so you are running OSX and Windows, and the game, big drain on performance. Virtualization is just not good for games in general. Make sure to get one that has the 9600 graphics card. Then just get boot camp and buy a copy of Windows and you will be set.
Or you could just buy a PC laptop for $800 less (not exagerrating either, i checked) and get the same performance.
Nope…These softwares r for convenience of user, not 4 playing high def. games.
