How to get a wireless connection to a PS3 with an unsecured network?

I have been trying to follow the tutorials online to connect my PS3 to the internet wirelessly but I have had no luck. I have an unsecured router with no wep code and cant seem to figure it out.

go to settings then go all the way down to network settings and then scan for a signal and yours should turn out with your id name choose it and go on easy connection if you need more detail message me
