TVTV Buying GuideTV

With technology changing daily, what was the best on the market yesterday can be the worst thing you could purchase today.  I am going to help you make the decision on which  TV you should purchase and why.

I am in process of purchasing a TV for my new house at the moment so we can walk through this together.  When first starting your search you need to decide the most important factor… SIZE !!! For myself I am not going to overboard and have decided on a 42″ tv.  I believe that is a good size living room television.  So you know what size tv you want and you hop on Bestbuy.com or Walmart.com to see what kind of deals they have.  You may be surprised to see that they have a plethora of televisions in the size you are looking for but with a large range of prices.  The prices could range from $500 to $5000 dollars on the same size television. It is baffling the price difference in what looks to be the same thing.

My Trip to Best Buy

Well last night I made the plunge and picked up myself a new TV.  As I had said before I wanted a 42 inch LCD tv, well things change.  I wanted to know the differences between LCD and Plasma to help me decide which one to purchase.  I could talk about the differences for days but I will summarize what the differences are that you care about.  Plasma is better then LCD for picture quality without a contest.  Yes you have heard about the burn in issue on plasmas and while that has always scared me in the past I have been educated on it more and do not see it as an issue.  If you are playing video games for many many hours and there is an image that doesn’t move on the screen then you may experience burn in.  Luckily there is also a disc that you can purchase that will wipe the screen and fix the burn in, incase this happens to you. I purchased a 50 inch plasma televison made by Samsung.  The price I paid was $879 and I did not purchase the extended warranty.

What kind of TV do you have ?

Why did you chose it ?

What do you think of the new LED TV’s ?
