What is the most efficient way I can get my Xbox 360 to connect to the internet?

I just bought an Xbox 360 today and I’m having trouble connecting to the internet on there.
Um, I tried using an ethernet cable and my modem to connect directly to the Xbox, but the troubleshoot tests failed.
What is the most cost-efficient way I can get this to work?

u probably hav a strict firewall and it wont let your xbox 360 pass it unless YOU personally fix it. to do this, you need to figure out your ip address and type it into your web browser and on the page, there will be a thing that should say "firewall settings" and you have to adjust it so that it will allow your xbox to pass it. (once you do this, it will be saved and u wont need to do it unless u switch internet providers)
I’d like to know that exact thing!
you are gonna have to mess around with your router and firewall…dont go get a wireless adapter for the 360…they suck. use the cables and just keep trying
