Xbox 360???
I dont know if i should get a PS3 or an XBox 360. I want to get an xbox 360 and play xbox live but it costs for that and plus i dont have a computer near my TV so ill have to spend another 0 to get a wireless network adapter. That totals 0. The PS3 is 0. I do admit that Xbox 360 has better games but PS3 will get better games. Also itll cost me more to buy an xbox 360 than to just buy a PS3 ( which has free online and WIFI). Even if i do get the Xbox 360, is it worth paying 0 (0 for the adapter, 50 for the Xbox live Subscription) just to play Xbox live? Ive also heard that the wireless adapter breaks very quickly. Is this true? I do like the Xbox 360 better but i mean it breaks down a lot plus u have to pay for everything which is gonna total up to be alot more than the PS3. So should I get an Xbox 360 or just get the PS3?
P.S. I have a PS2 and a PSP right now.

Here’s some more food for thought… Rumors are flying around now that Microsoft will be cutting the prices of their systems soon (Hopefully beginning of August) to stifle PS3 salses, if that is true, that’ll make the cost of Xbox Live and an Adapter a lot more bareable.
The wireless adapter for the Xbox is a tricky thing. It is reliable as far as durability but connection speed is a little lower than desirable. If you have an impressive internet connection, a small hit in speed won’t matter, but otherwise if at all possible run a cable instead of going wireless, plus you can save the $100 for games, etc.
If you really want to watch HD movies then by all means get the PS3 because a $200 add-on for the 360 HD DVD player is not worth it when added onto the price of the system.
Right now graphics are currently pretty even between the systems but if you look at the future… as much as I don’t want to admit it, PS3 will eventually take the lead (or should assuming developers utilize the hardware correctly).
I would say all things being equal, look at the platform exclusive games for each system and a schedule of future releases to come and buy the system based on what games interest you most, because it is safe to assume that the multiplatform games will be equal in quality for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Xbox Live has a better online service than the PS3, with more additional game content to download (exclusive content will be available for the Xbox for the new Grand Theft Auto IV) but that is just a side thought.

another side note to consider (and this is just my personal feeling): I think Blu-Ray will win the format wars.. but I plan on holding out for a while until the PS3 encounters another price drop, maybe holiday season ‘08? until I purchase a PS3.
get the xbox. it has more games and is a lot cheaper. DO NOT GEt the PS3
Anyone who buys a PS3 right now is a fool, 0 good games on it and a questionable future.
ps3 its worth the money i have it and i play it everyday xbox 360 has no good games and some of the games on the 360 r on ps3 and the ps3 has free online play while the 360 you have to pay for it i would get the new 80 gb ps3 in august cause i read that sony is going to get rid of the 60 gb too for some reason
My husband has an XBox 360. It’s a POS b/c when we try to play a game – an XBox 360 game- on it, it says – to play this disc, insert it into an XBox 360 console…

Stick with sony ! ps3 are great, i no 360 are better for lots of reason at the moment but sony will catch up , then ps3 will p i ss all other 360..
It really depends on the type of games you play. Xbox 360 has a better online gaming system right now, for games such as Halo or Call of Duty. The PS3 will have a wider variety of games, such as RPGs, shooters, action, puzzle, etc.
I personally recommend the PS3, my fiancee and I have one, and we are very happy with it. There is a lot of cool stuff on the Playstation store, and we are happy with the games and the fact that it plays Blueray DVDs right off the bat. To play HD DVDs on the 360, you need to buy a separate drive. Also, all Playstation and Playstation 2 games are backwards compatible on the PS3, while not all Xbox games are for the 360.
I really think the PS3 is a better deal.
You don’t need a computer in any capacity in order to play Xbox live. You just need an internet connection. All that requires is a cable from the wall outlet to the back of the box, wireless is also completely unnecessary. Long cable is maybe $10, if you’d like to spend ten times that just to not trip over a cable, be my guest. PS3 is far too overpriced for what it does, and it also has very few games. Granted, i went with the original Xbox when it had few games, but there were great launch titles and the promise of many more to come soon after. The only good one for PS3 now is Resistance, imo, and im not sure of the future. I’d recommend the 360 hands down. Get it and pick up Gears of War and Oblivion, you won’t be disappointed.
The xbox 360 currently is going to be your best buy and probably will be that way unless sony releases an ungodly amount of games or 1 game to rule them all. The 360 is winning the console war so with xbox live your going to have A LOT more people playing the games you want to play online. Also any problems you may have with live your going to be able to get support alot faster than you would be with sony. The wireless network is always a good investment any way because with many more of todays devices being released with wifi. I would definately reccomend the 360 for present and future.

you should xbox 360!! not a stupid ps3.plus i have xbox live you dont need a wyfi you can just get a ethernet cable for 20 bucks and they come in 14 ft. 30 ft. and 50 ft. and more. you just have to get the gold card. and it only cost 26 bucks. maybe a little more. =]
Since you have PS2 and PSP go with PS3, However the Playstation 3 doesn’t have many good games at the moment. XBox 360 has better online and better games. But if you like playstations get PS3. Xbox 360 is that better system at this point. PS3 will improve at some point.
Get a Xbox 360 it is 150 percent better than than the ps3. Ps3 has no games and it cost way to much. Plus ps3s online is terrible. Xbox live is amazing and is worth the money. So you should go to the store by the xbox 360 and get playing the better system
Not sure about the Quality of the 360’s wireless adapter, but it is going to cost you more than $550 because of the recurring fee of XBL. XBL is an established service and so is better than the PSN (playstation network) right now, but it has had much longer to grow. The PSN will give you Home this fall, though, and so will start to bridge the gap very quickly. One thing that people don’t know about XBL is how closed it is. Microsoft is creating a bridge between XBL and Windows Vista, but this will cost extra for PC owners. PSN, however, will have great functionality between the PS3 and computers and PSPs and even cell phones because of its open infastructure at no extra cost.
Don’t listen to the people above me, PS3 has several exclusive good games out now, including Resistance, Motorstorm, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma as well as the great downloadable games Calling All Cars and Super Stardust HD. And, by the way, Oblivion is out for the 360 AND the PS3. Anyone doubting the PS3’s future is either a diehard fanboy or hasn’t watched Sony’s E3 press conference. Sony won E3 not because it had a good presentation (Jack Trenton was a horrible presenter) or a pretty slide show, but because of the massive amount of content and features coming out very soon for the Playstation brand, most notably the PS3 (although the new PSP is cool). It was even announced there that Haze and Unreal Tournament 3 would be timed exclusives for the PS3 (and Unreal Tournament 3 will have great connectivity with the PC version b/c of the PSN). SOME great PS3 exclusive coming out soon: Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Lair, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Killzone 2, Gran Tourismo 5 Prelude, and several more that I am forgetting now.
The PS3 is a superior piece of hardware with an astounding lineup of games coming out soon. It has a more solid future than 360 fans would have you think and time will only distance it as the superior system as developers learn to program for the Cell Processor.
i would go with the 360. since sony is making the price of the ps3 to 500 Microsoft is also cutting the price of the 360. the core would be 350 so yea. The games there is no fight right now the 360 has way more games and even when good games start coming out for the ps3 most of them will be on the 360 to except for like killzone 2 and mgs. plus with the 360 you get live and that is definitely the best online service you do have to pay the 50 for a year but it is well worth it. another reason for the 360 the games coming out this fall and holiday season are gonna be crazy

xbox 360 ps2 has a long way to go, and the adapter thing is not true. and yes it is worth it for xbox live u can do so many things with xbox live
get da XBOX 360…ms had extended da warranty to 3 years…..also halo 3 is comin out….and also most of da good games on ps3 will be comin out in xbox too lyk da Metal gear….all u need is a internet connection for the xbox live to play…way better than ps3…get xbox 360
Xbox 360 is a whole lot better cause they have a warranty and there is some very good games on it, and some very good games coming up like BioShock. I would buy a Playstation 3 cause it isnt worth the money, and it copys Microsoft way to much. Like have you seen the new PS3 controllers, almost exact ripoff of the Xbox 360 controllers. Plus if you have a lot of friends come over to your house and play games, get a Wii. Its has games that are mainly for multiplayer use. I have an Xbox360, and Im loving it, havent had any problems with it, and Im covered for 4 years. Gotta love Micro Center.
The xbox 360 Is a horrible system I have had it for two months and I am on my fourth one and it just broke again so know I have to go spend another two hundred dollars to go trade it in and get a ps3. If you are thinking well maybe it won’t happen to me maybe it is just a coincidence, don’t that is what I was thinking and look what I have gotten myself into. Even if you get the extended warranty, if it breaks down it takes two weeks for them to ship another to you and then your warranty is gone. So take it from someone with experiance get a ps3.
Get the 360 you will not regret it
The only reason you should be getting a PS3 atm is for Blu Ray since not many good games are out for the PS3 yet
Honestly, this is probably not the best forum to use to make your decision.
A question like this will most likely be answered by fans of a particular company or system.
Even I am somewhat biased because I own and love my Xbox 360.
The best thing to do, is decide what kind of games you like. Do you like to play online? Do you like First-Person-Shooters? Etc.
Are you going to watch Blu-Ray movies?
Do some reading on the internet and magazines written by non-biased journalists.
Look at the 1st party or exclusives on each system.
Most people are looking forward to Halo 3, but PS3 will eventually have another God of War.
Choose which system has the most exclusives, or will in the future.
I can tell you this…I have had my Xbox 360 for over a year, and it’s the best experience I’ve had so far.
Then again, I haven’t played a PS3, I’ve only read reviews and watched videos of games on it.
As for your wireless network, you’ll still have to buy a wireless router for a PS3.

The Xbox 360 is much better.
It has a way more extensive on line system than a PS3.
Also the games are amazing such as Gears of War, Shadowrun, Rainbow Six Vegas, and so on.
Only thing decent about the PS3 is the Blue-Ray disc.
