I have 2 laptops that I want to back up but are torn between buying an external hard drive (what size 500 gb or 2 tb?) or subscribe to an online service such as Carbonite or Mozy (Safety? Separate accounts for each laptop?). Can someone with experience & an opinion help me? I can buy a 500 gb from TigerDirect for about the same price these cloud services charge for 1 year storage. I travel a lot so instant access is important. Any suggestions?

I have an iPhone 3GS, and am thinking of switching to Verizon for the iPhone 4S since AT&T’s 3G network in Long Island is unbelievably congested. However, I’ll have to switch from an unlimited plan to one with a data cap. Is there an easy way to check your data usage vs the data cap directly on the phone? I’d prefer it if there was an app I could quickly check.
