So I just got a MacBook (the regular white one) and I can only connect to the internet with the Ethernet cable in one room. I was wondering EXACTLY how to connect to the internet like on a PC with the passcode? I know it’s possible! I just don’t know exactly where to go on my Mac. Thanks.

I have my macbook, and I want to do a software update, but I am having trouble connecting it to the internet. I have unplugged the Ethernet cable from my desktop and plugged it into the port on the laptop, but nothing happened. Is there some steps I need to go through to set this up properly?

I can’t get my Macbook Pro to connect to the internet via ethernet. The laptop detects the cord in Network under System Preferences, but when I go to Safari, it tells me I’m not connected.
