Why do you need a 3d TV to play a 3d game?

I thought the 3d TV’s converted everything to 3d? That’s what they claim. So is the game not just converting itself to 3d? Or is it converting itself so the TV doesn’t have to? I’m very confused on it. I thought if the game converts itself, then all you would need are the glasses. The TV is just if you wanted everything in 3d.

some of the games at E3 they were saying are going to be 3D. But can you also play those games in 2D?
and one game was jak and daxtar with sly cooper. So even this game will be able to be played in 2d?

Where can I rent a 3D TV (and glasses) in San Diego?

I am looking to rent a 3D TV for the upcoming VT vs. Boise St. football game (9/6/10) and would like a TV (or 2) and upwards of 50 pairs of glasses. Any idea where I could rent all of this? Thanks

I know on the Verizon Iphone you can’t talk and browse the web, but can you listen to your music on the iphone and txt? Or listen to music and play a game or use and App?
