Or what I really mean to say, what would the equivalent ATI desktop card be performance wise in a 15" macbook pro?

Just wondering whether to replace my older desktop with a macbook but a lot will depend on the graphics. I was going to replace my desktop card with a HD4870, would the macbook be faster that that for example?

I want to use my TV as my monitor.
I also want to buy a 3d acceleration graphics card so I can use google earth.
Do I have to buy 2 separate cards?
One to use the TV as a monitor and a different video card for 3d graphics.
All I know is that my desktop only has a pci slot,no agp.

I have the graphics card but I don’t feel like paying for a 3rd monitor but I have the mentioned TV, it being over 120hz(240hz) it should work with 3D Vision correct?

How much of a performance increase did we see? How much better is the graphics card on the new macbook pro compared to the older? I might get a refurbished macbook pro for 1400 after tax’s or save for the new one. I really want to play games like Warhammer online should i save for the new one or is the old good enough?

In the audio tab of the control panel it isnt even recognizing that i have a speaker or microphone hooked up. and yes they are in the right places. can anyone help?? i’ve also already put in the driver CD for the graphics card to see if it has sound on it but it doesnt.
