Having trouble connecting Galaxy tab to secure WiFi?
I’ve tried to connect to our home WiFi several times by letting the tab find the network and also by manually putting in the IP address…etc…It always says it’s "obtaining IP address" but after a few tries, it just times itself out and doesn’t connect. I’ve connected the tab to WiFi at places that have had unsecure connections and it’s worked just fine.
I had read on the internet that this is a common problem with the Galaxy tab and one way to fix it is downloading "Kies" as the first step in the process of trying to "root the galaxy tab". When I downloaded Kies and connected my tab, I got a message saying "Reconnect the device in Samsung Kies (PC studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by Kies."
I have no idea how to reconnect in PC studio mode. I actually downloaded the NPC program from Samsung thinking this was an update I needed…but nothing happened when I connected the tab to the computer. In my opinion, NPC looks like it’s for a phone and not a tab anyway.
Is there an easier way to connect to my home WiFi?? I just don’t understand why it will pick up on networks that are unsecure, but won’t connect to my secure network even after manually putting the routing numbers into the tab!!
Am I doing something wrong? How do I put the tab into "PC studio mode" so I can proceed with the "Root" process that supposedly helps with this glitch??
