I was planning to get a hp pavilion slimline s5150t and was wondering if it’s processor supports Hardware virtualization technology. Here are the specs: intel core 2 quad 2.5ghz (q9300) proccesor. 8 gb ddr3 ram. 640gb hd.512mb video card.It has windows vista home premuim, but I was going to install windows 7 ultimate.I know that the computer can run windows 7 and virtual pc and windows xp mode ok but I don’t have a clue if the processor supports Hardware virtualization technology.I know how enable it if it’s not enabled but I don’t know if the processor supports the Hardware virtualization technology.I want to buy the pc,install windows 7 and then install windows xp mode and windows virtual pc so I can Run my old programs. The windows xp mode and windows virtual pc requires the Hardware virtualization technology. So can I install windows virtual pc and windows xp mode or not?I can’t run the tool that microsoft provides to check if my computer supports it cause I don’t have the computer with me. I don’t want any advice,I just want a yes or no and some detail.I prefer more then 3 answers.

1st, please explain any IT lingo, I’m a layman when it comes 2 technology.

I work exclusively on a laptop & my current 1 needs 2 B replaced. My top choices come w/Vista. Replacing incompatible software will cost k+ (can’t afford).

Is it possible to install both Vista & XP to run my old software until I can afford 2 replace? Can I switch back & forth easily? How is it done?

Would it be worthwhile 2 uninstall Vista & Install XP? I’ve got original installation CD from my old laptop (Dell).

Would it be better to try & buy a new laptop with XP on it & upgrade to Vista later when I can afford replacement software or more compatibility is available? I’m looking at Toshiba, Sony, Dell, & HP.

Lastly, I’m told 64 bit is the next wave & I prefer buying for the future, not just today. Would 64 bit create more software problems? Should I stick with 32 bit?

Thanks so much for sharing your technical expertise

Please help!- Internet Trouble!!!!?

Hi, I have a HP laptop, and to get internet, we have a wi fi wireless finder. This usually works, but today, I tried to go onto the internet, but the only "website" that shows up is for Comcast. It says welcome to Comcast High-Speed Internet. They want me to install Comcast on my computer, but I do not want to! We do not use Comcast with any of our technology! I try to type in a new web addres but it keeps on going back to the Comcast page> It won’t let me my internet, but I really need it! To ask this question right now, I am borrowing a friends computer. Could any one know what is wrong, and how to fix my problem please help me?! Thankyou so much and remember 10 points best answer!

I asked an earlier question:

I recieved answers to this question, did some research and believe that it is spyware. I am being blocked from using my internent. What can I do, to get rid of the spyware or virus and get my computer back to normal. Thankyou for your answers!
