intel celeron vs. Intel pentium 4?

I have a Intel pentium 4 processor hyper threading technology operating at 2.8 Ghz 1Mb L2 cache 800 mhz front side bus that is currently discontinued as of 2008.
Which processor is best/better overall between a intel celeron processor and the one above i have stated?
I am also talking about the recent intel celeron processors that are still out in the market today. for example, the latest ones like 2.0ghz and up.
also additionally, is the new intel celeron dual core processor much better than the pentium 4 stated above or the single core celeron?
thanks
