First, I am a Mac user so I don’t want any rants about "PC this PC that". Okay? So I want to get a laptop for college next year, and I don’t know which Mac I should get. I want to know the core differences between the two. I cant seem to find why the Macbook Pro is so "Pro".

I have a Mac user that needs to have access to only one directory on my Windows 2003 Server, when we connect to the 2003 server using SMB on a mac, the user is able to view all of the shares and mount any of the shares. Is there a way so that when this user logs into the 2003 box from the Mac that only the one directory that he needs access to is available as a share for him to mount?

I am about to purchase my first laptop, a Gateway NV5214u. Its my first PC aside from an old, almost unusable desktop. Ive grown up a Mac user and I am going into my sophomore year of high school. I really dont know much about these operating systems. I get a free upgrade to Windows 7 but to me (someone who is not too PC savvy) what are the major and/or noticeable differences between Windows Vista and Windows 7?
