I saw a YouTube video of someone microwaving their iPad while it was running. Within 2 seconds of starting up the microwave oven, the screen went blank. But it took almost 30 seconds before the screen started to warp and shrivel up, and a minute before the iSmoke started to fill the oven.

From a technical perspective, what exactly happened to the iPad in the first 2 seconds that caused the screen to go blank and stop working?

…such as the microwave oven?
My Brain (below) They were doing R&D for a government project, if I recall.

Do you own a Maytag oven ?  Well if you do you better double check to make sure it hasn’t turned itself on after your cell phone rings.  This happened to Andrei Melnikov and burnt a thermometer that was left in his oven.  Tests have comfirmed that this incident is not the only occurrence.  Maytag call this occurence “highly unusual, and blame the problem on electromagnetic interference.
