Okay, The main purpose is to LEARN about virtualization and play around with it. However,I have a problem of determining which is best for a HEADLESS server. I want to run several Linux distributions as guests and of cause Windows guests as well.

On a Side Note: This is not the first time I am going use virtualization. For more than 3 years I have been using VMWare Workstation and VirtualBox to run guest VMs

However, now I want to run VMs/VEs in a headless server as they do in industry. I know, in industry there are lot of advanced technologies are being used but, still I want to try them in SMALL-SCALE. As I mentioned before, this is purely for educational purposes.

If you’re wondering what kind of system that I am going to use as my host, here are some details:

Intel processor that supports hardware virtualization (Intel-VT)
8GB RAM
More than enough Hard disk space (~1TB)

THEREFORE, CAN YOU GUYS GIVE SOME SUGGESTIONS / LINKS TO TUTORIALS etc. Your ideas/help is very much appreciated.

Thank you in advanced.

P.S. I installed VMWare vSphere Hypervisor on my "host" and later noticed that it uses just over 1GB of my RAM just to run hypervisor. It is not an efficient solution for me because I have only 8GB RAM in my machine. Typical Linux Headless server only uses ~300MB RAM just to run. So, I prefer Linux Server. In fact I love FOSS :) :)

The ipad is cheaper and does the samething and has touch screen
BUT the macbook air looks really nice and fancy, but it takes me like a month of hard work and effort to purchase it :( ….. but for business it can be use it is easy to carry and not as common as the ipad is

for Djing i can use both

i already have a good windows/linux machine and it has all the specs i need with 8gb ram and all the good stuff so i dont really need an optical drive on this or any of that "power spec" thing

i just want to Dj with it… take it to business conferences or other things that i do… and kinda show of
Internet im sure i can buy a 3g adapter or mifi thing so i dont worry about that….

so the deal is which one makes me look more pro…. doing my business and internet browsing say at starbucks…
do I look more pro with macbook air or Ipad… or another suggestion of another device that is also slim and made from aluminum :)

400Watt PSU + GTS 450?

What do you guys think, I’ve had the combination for about 4-5 months now.. Do you think I’m starving my GPU? I run 60-70 FPS in America’s Army 3.. My FPS will Randomly drop.. But when I alt tab out and back in my FPS is back up..

Do you think getting a new PSU would improve my FPS.. Or more ram..

PSU: Allied ATX 400W SL-8400BTX
GPU: Galaxy GTS 450
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 840
Ram: 2 gig
OS: Win 7 64b

AlienWare M18x or Apple IPad 2?

iPad is nice because you have 50,000 games to download but only 64gb of space and 512mb RAM? but the touch screen is awesome. But the AlienWare M18x laptop has 2000gb, 32gb of ram, cd drive, 3d capable screen, and more. I’m getting both, but what should I get first?!?
