I need to protect my pc from viruses and spyware. If I install both anti-virus and anti-spyware will it affect my computer in any negative way? Is it recommended to install both or just one?

I have symantec endpoint protection, ad-aware and spyware doctor all on my computer. Originally i just had ad-aware and symantec until i got a virus and i got spyware doctor. i ended up liking it but i dont know if i want to get rid of ad-aware. Would it be a bad idea to keep all three on my computer?

I am just not sure where to go to find a program to scan for and remove spyware and viruses.

I’m wondering, what does spyware do to your computer? Also, is it like people sitting in front of screens watching everything you do? Thanks!
To clarify, I mean do people watch what you do on your computer and try to get account passwords and such?

When doing spyware removal on someone’s system, you should do something before starting the removal process. This step should be your first step. What is this step and why should you do it?
