I have a messed up droid, and i was wondering if i put it in, i will get a droid or a better phone. Because ive heard that they stopped making droid and they will upgrade you?? And i have warranty on it and its for Verizon

I have heard that the warranty for Apple products is void if they are jailbroken (is this even true?). If I jailbroke an iPad, and something went wrong with it before the warranty expired, and I un-jailbroke it and brought it to Apple, would they know (or care) that it had been jailbroken?
