hi, i want to buy an ipad, should i purchase the extended warranty?

I recently acquired a Macbook Pro from a friend who had spilled coffee on the keyboard. Everything works fine still, except the backlight. Not a huge problem, but does anyone know from experience how much it might cost to have it replaced if it’s no longer under warranty?

Can i buy the warranty months or days later or i have to buy the warranty while purchasing the ipad on the same day

Would it be safe to buy a macbook or a pro directly from Apple?
Like if theres something wrong, would there be an automatic warranty since its already used?

Well i have the first droid and i got angry and i threw it the whole screen is broken shattered and i was suppose to get the droid 2 but i don’t know if i can still get it if my original phone is broken even though we still have the warranty and insurance on the phone.
